Bar Councils
Methodology and disclaimer
NABC reviews each bar body’s publicly documented activity during a defined period, here 1 September 2025 to 28 September 2026. Sources include official websites, press releases, submissions, annual reports, and reputable legal and general news outlets. Each body is assessed against five fixed criteria using Strong, Moderate, Limited, or Not assessed. Ratings reflect evidence found; Not assessed is not a negative finding. Bodies differ in legal role, so assessments take mandate into account.
Criteria: Rule of Law and Judicial Independence, Access to Justice, Governance and Transparency, Professional Standards and Education, Diversity and Inclusion.
Review date: 28 September 2026. “Not assessed” means NABC did not find enough public information; it is not a negative finding.
