How Is Rape Categorized Under the Sexual Offences Laws of Islam? How Successful Is Pakistan’s Legal System in Curbing the Offence of Rape?

This dissertation examines the legal classification of rape under Islamic law and Pakistan’s legal system. It distinguishes zina from zina-bil-jabr, considers evidentiary requirements and the concepts of hadd, ta’zir and siyasah, and evaluates Pakistan’s legal responses, including the Protection of Women Act 2006 and the Anti-Rape Ordinance 2020.
